Honorees Announced for 2018 Pride Honors Awards

Greater Palm Springs Pride announced today the recipients of its 2018 Pride Honors Awards. Honorees include seven Palm Springs residents & a community organization. The prestigious Pride Honors are presented annually to individuals to recognize their efforts in raising awareness and furthering the causes of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals and their allies. The awards ceremony is September 26, at the Hilton Palm Springs. Learn more about the honorees here.

DBA Networking Mixer at 4 Paws Coffee Co.

On Monday, Aug 20 from 6:00–8:00 p.m., join the Desert Business Association for a mixer welcoming new member, 4 Paws Coffee Company! This new "Breakfast and Brunch" Spot serves delicious coffee, tea, smoothies, blended coffees, delightful muffins, breakfast sandwiches and more. Big Queen Bingo at Hotel Zoso

Come on caller, make me holler! Big Queen Bingo has arrived at Hotel Zoso, starting Tuesday, August 21 at 7:00 p.m. in The Kitchen restaurant, and continuing every Tuesday night! Enjoy great food, drink specials, comedy, songs, and prizes galore, hosted by the lovely & talented Tommi Rose. Bingo proceeds benefit different local charities every week. More info

Outbook Club + Mixer

This month's Outbook Club selection is Less by Andrew Sean Greer, and the club will meet for a social and discussion of the book on Tuesday, August 21 from 6:00–8:30 p.m. at the Palm Springs Cultural Center. To join, simply pick up and read this month's selection. Local book critic and columnist J. Corbett Holmes leads discussions every month. More info

Palm Springs Chamber August Mixer

On Tuesday, Aug 21 from 5:00–6:30 p.m. the Palm Springs Chamber of Commerce presents their August Mixer at Sammy G's Tuscan Grill. Established in 2009, Sammy G’s has an innovative menu, blending traditional Italian with California cuisine. Members are free, Guests $15.00 per person. More info

Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus Auditions

Leading into its 20th Season, the Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus (PSGMC) will be holding open call auditions. The Palm Springs Gay Men's Chorus will hold its semi-annual auditions on Tuesday, August 28 at 7:00 p.m. Candidates can attend open rehearsals on Tuesday, August 21 at 7:00 p.m. to get a sense of how the chorus is structured and the camaraderie that exists between all of the singers. More info

Yappy Hour at the Westin Mission Hills

On Friday, August 24 from 4:00–6:00 p.m., the Westin Mission Hills Golf Resort & Spa is hosting a Yappy Hour Celebration in honor of their 3rd adopted dog reunion. This special event celebrates the hotel’s partnership with Animal Samaritans animal shelter and the successful adoption of 120 dogs. All dogs and their owners are invited to attend, with doggie-VIP status granted to those who were adopted through the Adopt-a-Pet program. Guests will enjoy food, drinks, speeches and a special screening of The Secret Life of Pets. Drink specials for 2-legged guests include the Salty Dog, the Frisky Chihuahua, or the Pit Bull. 4-legged guests will receive house made dog treats. More info
