Hot Rodeo 2016 festivities kick off Thursday, May 5th....here is a breakdown of events directly from their website:
The So You Think You Can Dance? – Dance Contest at Chill Bar's Scorpion Room from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. (Registration is $20 and begins at 6:00 p.m.). Categories include Two-Step, Waltz, Shadow, Swing, and Line Dance. Ribbons awarded for each category, and the Hot Rodeo Dance Champion Buckle will be awarded to the overall winner.
At 9:00 p.m., the fun moves across the street to the Palm Springs Hot Rodeo Welcome Party at Hunter's Nightclub.
Friday, the 6th, the WGRF Committee meets at the Ivy Palms Resort & Spa, 2000 N. Palm Canyon Dr., Palm Springs, CA, at 8:30 AM, followed by the IGRA Trustees Meeting in the same location at 10:00 AM. The Hot & Wet Cowboy Pool Party follows from 12PM – 5PM, along with Hot Rodeo Contestant Registration, all at the Ivy Palms Resort & Spa.
Also on Friday, the Women of Gay Rodeo Kick-Off Party takes places at Alibi / Azul from 9 PM to close, coinciding with the Out Behind The Shed Kick-Off Party at Tool Shed.
On Saturday, Day One of the Palm Springs Hot Rodeo Competitive Events take place at the A. C. Dysart Equestrian Center, 2101 W. Victory Ave., Banning, CA from 9-5, with the Grand Entry at approximately noon. Saturday night, it's time for Dancing Under the Stars in the Spurline Parking Lot beginning at 7 PM, complete with DJ Rick Dominguez and performances by the L.A. Wranglers and Phoenix Heatwave.
Sunday, Palm Springs Hot Rodeo Competitive Events continue @ A. C. Dysart Equestrian Center, 2101 W. Victory Ave., Banning, CA 9AM – 5PM Grand Entry @ Approximately NOON. Community Goat Dressing Event open to anyone to enter.
And it all wraps up with the Palm Springs Hot Rodeo Awards Ceremony & Celebration a Alibi / Azul (369 N. Palm Canyon).
