It was an another amazing weekend in the desert. The food and wine event in Palm Desert had an amazing turnout. They had over 50 restaurants doing tastings including our very own Purple Room and Rio Azul Mexican Cantina. There were several celebrity chefs along with some of our favorite local ones. Today we wind up another successful year for The American Documentary Film Festival, and I want to give a shout out to all the filmmakers for bringing there films to our wonderful city. The grandest of all Dames, the fabulous Dane Edna is in town at the McCallum Theatre with her Farewell Tour till March 4th. Dame Edna Everage is celebrating a 50-year career of sold-out venues, command performances for the Royal Family, television specials and around-the-world tours. This Wednesday April 1st, starts the beginning of The Dinah Shore weekend that is considered the #1 lesbian event in the world. It was originally created by Mariah Hanson back in 1991. Mariah’s first Dinah was sold out where she booked hotels so that they were 100% lesbian occupied, brought in national sponsors, popular national recording artists, and kept all events in walking distance. Top headliners in the past has included The Pussycat Dolls, Pat Benetar and many others and this year is no disappointment with Meghan Trainor, Christina Perri and many more. Continuing on with pride events in the desert, April 3rd kicks off Cathedral City's LGBT Days that is guaranteed to be alot of fun. With a ton of events happening from the bunny bar hop to the Rocky Horror sing-a-long there is also going to be a Costume Charity Bed Race. The bed race offers you or your organization an opportunity to raise money for a charity of your choice while having a fun, zany time. This event is open to basically any group of 5 fun people that can fill-out an application, sign the waiver, and can produce $75 for the entry fee. Go HERE to fill out the app. Time is running out!
