Norwegian photographer and Herb Ritts protege Erik Asla delivers his quiet yet bold series "The Stillness of Motion" to popular art gallery JANSSEN ARTSPACE on Saturday, June 17th. Resisting the urge to focus exclusively on the genres in which his mentor Herb Ritts built such and illustrious career, Alsa was drawn to the solitary endeavor and unconstrained expressive boundaries presented by fine art photography. Here, Asla is seeking to create semi-abstract graphic representations of the sea in its most paradoxical state: moving, rushing, yet offering a sense of tranquility. Opening Reception will be held on June 17th from 7pm to 10pm. On view thru July 17th.
