Each year EQCA’s Equality Awards honor the inspirational leaders and outstanding allied organizations whose selfless work helps create a more fair and just society. These are special times to celebrate community achievements while renewing our commitment to the fight for equality. Among California’s premier gala events, attendants regularly include leaders of the LGBT equality movement, and leaders from the business, nonprofit, civic and political landscapes.
We're excited to recognize all of this year's Palm Springs Equality Awards honorees: Congresswoman Maxine Waters is receiving the Geoff Kors Leadership Award for her years of significant support of LGBTQ equality and for her persistence in refusing to be silenced by our current administration. We are proudly presenting Hon. Ginny Foat with the Lifetime Achievement Award, not only for her 14 years of dedicated service on the Palm Springs City Council but also for 50 years of community service, relentlessly leading the way to equality, justice and compassion. And, we are thrilled to present the first ever Equality For All Award to Raymond Cree Middle School, who have been outstanding in keeping alive the spirit of the EQCA sponsored Fair Education Act; including LGBTQ leaders within classroom curriculum as well as creating a safe space for all students.
