Downtown. It's Fun to be Downtown!

Park in Style...

Camera phones galore photograph the entrance to the new structure.

Spa Resort Casino recently cut the ribbon on a beautiful new addition to downtown Palm Springs. The new parking structure is located at the corner of E. Amado Road and N. Calle Encilia.   Spa Resort Casino invites guests to roll up in style at its new state-of-the-art, 850-stall parking structure. Owned by the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians and operated by Spa Resort Casino, McCarthy Building Company of Newport Beach, Calif., was general contractor on the 12-month build, and the architects were Parking Design Associates of Los Angeles on the parking structure, Delawie on its exterior, and JCI Architecture on the updates to the casino interior. More than 550 construction workers were associated with the project.

New Development Grand Openings

Here's what we know for sure, as revealed by Mayor Robert Moon at the Main Street Palm Springs Association meeting this morning...

The Rowan Palm Springs is set to open November 8th, but a ticketed State of the City event is planned for September 8th.  The new Starbucks Reserve is opening November 1st (no word on whether the current Starbucks is staying in place).  Finally H&M will have a grand opening the week before Thanksgiving!  It's a whole new downtown!  Plans will be revealed soon for a public opening.

DRG BRNCH
Starting this past Sunday, September 3rd - eight months into their run, Arial Trampway Presents DRG BRNCH moved upstairs at the Hard Rock Palm Springs to the Fillmore Ballroom!  GayDesertGuide.com publisher Brad Fuhr was on hand to snap some photos.

There's philanthropy involved as well, as during each performance the "Pass the Purse" to take contributions for a worthy charity.  The September shows benefit the Montrose Center, the LGBT Center in Houston, Texas.

Everything has expanded in scope and excitement! Now not only does their 11:30 AM Brunch show feature an all you can eat brunch buffet, they have added a completely new and different cocktail hour show from 2:30 pm.
